I was the assigned crew chief on A-10A 75-0309 from 1979 - 1982 at Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, AZ.
That bird is now on static display at Shaw AFB, SC.

A/C 750301 was the aircraft that crashed at the Paris Airshow in 1978. I remember the aircraft as I did the acceptance inspection when it arrived at DM.

I was at DM when we started getting the new A-10's. I believe we had 6 to 8 A-10's when I left in May 76. Worked out of the gun shop on the A-7's and never actually got to work on the A-10's.
